A few days ago, I installed Ubuntu 12.04, but when I launch VMware Workstation 8.0.2 an error appear:

To resolved this issue I decided to update VmwareWorkstation to 8.0.3 Ver. but the problem persist…

sudo sh VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.3-703057.x86_64.bundle

Searching a solution by internet I saw a possible patch to resolve my problem, this patch fix the VMwareWorkstation 8.0.2 but is compattible with 8.0.3 only edit  the “sh”

tar xvfz vmware802fixlinux320.tar.gz
patch-modules_3.2.0.sh
vmware3.2.0.patch
vim patch-modules_3.2.0.sh
#! /bin/bash
# VMWare Workstation/Player _host kernel modules_ patcher v0.6.2 by ©2010 Artem S. Tashkinov
# Tailored and fixed vmblock patching for the 2.6.39 patch by Stefano Angeleri (weltall)
# Use at your own risk.

fpatch=vmware3.2.0.patch
#vmreqver=8.0.2
vmreqver=8.0.3
plreqver=4.0.2
.....
...
.

And apply the patch:

sudo ./patch-modules_3.2.0.sh

Finally run the program 😉
